Account Fiscal Year

This module adds a new "Fiscal Years" screen under the Accounting configuration menu, where you can create, edit and delete fiscal year records. Each fiscal year has a name, a start date, an end date and a company.

• The list and form views show the name, start date, end date and company (the company column is only visible when multi-company is enabled).
• A search view lets you find fiscal years by name.
• The company list and form views now display the start and end dates of the current fiscal year, calculated automatically from today's date.

Business rules are enforced automatically: the end date cannot be earlier than the start date, and a fiscal year cannot overlap with another fiscal year of the same company. If either rule is broken, Odoo shows a validation error and refuses to save.

When Odoo needs to know the fiscal year for a given date, it first looks for a matching fiscal year record for that company; if none exists, it falls back to the standard fiscal year calculation based on the company's fiscal year end day and month, adjusting the boundaries so they do not overlap with existing fiscal year records.

Access is controlled: accounting users can only read fiscal years, while accounting managers can create, edit and delete them. A multi-company rule limits visibility to fiscal years of companies the user is allowed to access.
