Account Journal Lock Date

This module adds two dates on every accounting journal: a Lock Date and a Lock Date for Non-Advisers. You can find them on the journal form and in the journal list.

• The Lock Date blocks everyone, including Advisers, from adding or changing entries dated on or before that date in that journal.
• The Lock Date for Non-Advisers only blocks users who are not Advisers; Advisers can still work on entries on or before that date.

When someone tries to save an entry dated on or before the applicable lock date, Odoo stops them with an error message naming the journal and the lock date. For non-Advisers the message also suggests checking the journal settings or asking someone with the Adviser role.

From the journal list you can select several journals and use the action 'Update journals lock dates'. A small window opens where you enter the two dates and press Update; the dates are then written on all selected journals. Only Advisers (or the superuser) are allowed to run this action.

The module works together with the standard accounting lock dates and applies to account.journal and account.move.
