Account Move Line Packaging

This module adds packaging information directly to invoice lines, so instead of only typing a quantity you can say how many packages (boxes, pallets, etc.) are being invoiced.

On the invoice form, inside the invoice lines list, two extra columns appear: Packaging and Packaging Quantity. They are only shown for products and are hidden on journal entries. The packaging list is limited to packagings that belong to the product on the line, and you cannot create new packagings from there.

When you pick a packaging and enter a number of packages, Odoo converts that into the invoiced quantity using the packaging's own unit of measure and its contained quantity. For example, 3 boxes of 12 units become 36 units on the line. The quantity is recalculated automatically whenever the packaging, the packaging quantity, the unit of measure or the document type changes.

Odoo also keeps the data consistent: if you change the product, a packaging that does not belong to the new product is cleared, and if you remove the packaging the packaging quantity is reset to zero. A validation rule blocks saving a line where the selected packaging does not belong to the selected product, with the message "The selected packaging does not belong to the selected product."

The module works on account.move.line and the invoice form view, and requires the stock packaging feature to be enabled for the columns to be visible.
