Account Payment Residual Amount

This module adds a new field called Residual Amount to payments in Odoo. The residual amount is the portion of a payment that has not yet been matched (reconciled) with an invoice or bill.

Where you see it: - In the customer payments and vendor payments lists, a new Residual Amount column appears after the partner type, and in the vendor payments list the column is totalled at the bottom. - On the payment form, the residual amount is displayed just below the payment amount.

How it is calculated: - Odoo looks at the journal items linked to the payment and only considers those on accounts that allow reconciliation, excluding the payment's own journal account. - For incoming payments the sign is reversed, so the residual amount is shown consistently. - If the payment currency differs from the company currency, the amount is shown in the payment currency; otherwise it is shown in the company currency.

The value is stored and recalculated automatically whenever the linked journal items or their residual amounts change, so it stays up to date without any manual action. The module only extends the existing account.payment model and the standard payment views; it does not add new menus or reports.
