Payment Term Restriction Sale

This module adds a control that limits the payment terms available in the sales area of Odoo. It works together with the base payment term restriction module and the Sales app.

When a user sets a payment term on a sales order, Odoo checks whether that term is allowed for sales. Only payment terms whose "applicable on" setting is Sales or All are accepted. If a term meant only for purchases or another area is chosen, Odoo raises a validation error and the value is not saved.

The same check applies to the default payment term stored on a customer record (the payment term used by default on that partner's sales documents). This prevents a customer from being configured with a payment term that cannot legally be used on their sales orders.

The rule is enforced automatically whenever the payment term field is changed on a sales order or on a partner, so users do not need to run any report or manual action. It touches the sale.order and res.partner models and relies on the payment term configuration from account.payment.term. No new menus, buttons or reports are added; the change is visible only through the validation message that appears when an incompatible payment term is selected.
