Remote Base

This module keeps a register of the machines that connect to your Odoo database. Each time a remote address reaches Odoo, the system tries to find its hostname on the network and stores it in a new record with the address, the hostname and a flag showing whether the machine could be found on the network.

You can see and search these records in a new "Remotes" menu under Settings > Administration. The list shows the hostname and the IP address, and the form shows the same information plus the network flag. Hostnames must be unique, so the same machine is not stored twice; if a known hostname appears with a new address, the stored address is updated automatically.

Business rules added by the module: - Login is only allowed when the connecting remote can be identified; otherwise access is denied. - Regular users can only read the remote records; only administrators can modify them. - Records are created automatically, so users normally do not need to add them by hand.

It touches the core base model (which gains a remote property), the user model res.users (login and authentication are checked) and adds the new res.remote model.
