Contract Operating Unit

This module links contracts to Operating Units, a way of separating business activity by branch or division. On every contract you get a new "Operating Unit" field, shown on the customer contract form, the supplier contract form and the contract list, but only for users who have the multi operating unit setting enabled.

When a contract is created, the Operating Unit is filled in automatically with the default operating unit of the user who creates it, so users do not have to set it manually every time.

When an invoice is generated from a contract, the contract's Operating Unit is copied onto the invoice, keeping the accounting entry aligned with the contract's operating unit.

In the contract search screen you can filter and group contracts by Operating Unit, making it easy to review all contracts belonging to one branch or division.

A security rule limits visibility: users only see contracts whose Operating Unit is one of the operating units they are allowed to access, plus contracts with no Operating Unit at all. The rule applies to reading contracts; it does not by itself grant or block creating, editing or deleting them.

The module works together with the Contracts and Account Operating Unit modules and affects the contract.contract model.
