Human Resources - Ethiopia

This module adapts the standard Human Resources records for Ethiopia. On employees, departments and job positions you get an extra Amharic name field, shown next to the normal name on their forms and searchable in the search filters.

In the HR settings you find an "Ethiopian Localization" section with three switches: display employee names, department names and job titles in the Amharic script by default. When a switch is on and an Amharic name has been filled in, Odoo shows that Amharic name instead of the usual one in lists, kanban cards and department hierarchies; if the Amharic name is empty, the normal name is used.

On the employee form the birthday field can be entered the Ethiopian way: you tick "Use Ethiopic Birthday" and pick the Ethiopian month, day and year, and Odoo automatically converts it into the standard birthday date. The year list covers roughly the last 59 Ethiopian years. These birthday fields are only visible to HR users and changes are tracked.

The employee education level list is extended with Ethiopian options such as No Formal Education, Primary School, Secondary School, Diploma, Bachelor, Master, Doctor and Other. The module touches hr.employee, hr.employee.public, hr.department, hr.job and the HR settings screen.
