AI-generated from the code · Odoo 20.0

Lets Romanian accountants close income, expense or selected accounts (e.g. VAT) for a chosen date range by automatically generating and posting a closing journal entry. Closing templates are reusable and can also balance the closing accounts against each other.

This module adds a Romanian period-closing tool to the Accounting app. Users create closing templates where they choose a company, a journal, a type (Incomes, Expenses or Selected accounts), the accounts to close, and a debit and a credit closing account. When the type is Incomes or Expenses, the list of accounts is filled automatically with the income or expense accounts of the company; for Selected accounts the user picks them manually (for example the VAT accounts).

From a template, the button "Close Period" opens a small wizard where the user sets a start and end date (defaulting to the previous month) and confirms. The module then reads all posted journal items on the selected accounts within that period, creates a new journal entry dated at the end date, fills it with the closing lines and posts it. The generated entries are flagged as closing moves and linked to their template, and they are listed on the template's Moves tab.

Business rules built in: - Expenses are normally closed on the credit side and incomes on the debit side; a per-account option "Bypass Closing Side Check" reverses this for special accounts such as 711. - The difference is booked on the debit or credit closing account depending on its sign. - If "Close debit and credit accounts" is ticked, an extra pair of lines is added so the two closing accounts offset each other.

The feature appears under Accounting > Journal Entries as the menu "Account Period Closing", visible to users with the Romanian menu group. Accountants can read and create templates, managers can also edit and delete them.
