United States Sample GAAP Chart of Accounts

This module adds a complete United States GAAP chart of accounts that a US company can load instead of building its own account list. Once installed, the chart is available as "US GAAP Chart of Accounts" when setting up a company's accounting.

The chart includes numbered accounts grouped by financial statement area: assets (cash, receivables, inventory, property, intangibles), liabilities (payables, debt, deferred revenue, related-party liabilities), equity (paid-in capital, retained earnings, other comprehensive income), revenue (goods, services, other operating income), expenses (cost of revenue, selling/general/administrative, doubtful accounts) and other gains/losses plus income tax. Account groups mirror the same structure so reports can be organised by section.

Loading the chart also sets sensible defaults for the company: US fiscal country, US dollar currency, six-digit account codes, bank/cash/transfer code prefixes, and specific accounts used for customer receivables, vendor payables, product income and expense, currency exchange gains and losses, and early-payment discounts. Anglo-Saxon accounting is enabled, which is the usual inventory valuation method for US GAAP.

A demo company in USD is provided for testing, and the main company's paper format is switched to the US letter format. The module only extends the chart template mechanism; it does not add new menus or screens of its own.
