Bill of Materials comparison

This module adds a comparison tool for Bills of Materials (BoM) in the Manufacturing area. From a Bill of Materials record you can open a small "Compare Bill of Materials" window, choose a first BoM (BoM v1) and a second one (BoM v2), and press the Compare button.

Odoo then analyses both structures, including the sub-assemblies, and lists the differences grouped in three sections: - Products updated: components present in both BoMs whose quantity changed, with the old quantity, the new quantity and the quantity gap. - Products added: components that only exist in the second BoM. - Products removed: components that only exist in the first BoM.

A total quantity gap is computed and shown at the bottom of the report. If nothing differs, the report simply states that no difference was detected.

The result is produced as a PDF report named "BoM Differences", showing the two BoMs compared, the reference and designation of each product, the quantities in each version and the gap, with colour highlighting for updated, added and removed lines.

The comparison window is available from the Bill of Materials screen, and the two BoM fields are limited to versions of the same product, so you compare revisions of one product's BoM.
