POS with Operating Units

This module links Point of Sale records to operating units, which are used to separate data between parts of a company. On a Point of Sale configuration you can now choose one or more Operating Units, either from the POS configuration form or from the Point of Sale settings screen.

When a POS session is opened for a configuration, the session automatically inherits the operating units of that configuration. Orders, order lines and payments created in that session also automatically receive the same operating units, so the whole chain stays consistent without manual entry.

The module adds record rules that restrict visibility: users only see POS configurations, sessions, orders, order lines and payments whose operating units are among the ones they are allowed to use. Records with no operating unit remain visible to everyone. The same restriction applies to the Point of Sale order report.

On the screens, the Operating Units field is shown on the POS configuration form, on the POS order form and list, and on the payment form and list, together with the related Point of Sale field. These fields are read-only on orders and payments and are only visible to users who work with multiple operating units.
