Product Account Multi-Company Default

This module helps you keep the same accounting setup across several companies. On a product template (a product shared by all companies) and on a product category, you get two extra buttons next to the income and expense account fields: "Propagate income account to other companies" and "Propagate expense account to other companies".

When you click one, Odoo looks in each of your other companies for an account with the same code as the one you selected, and sets that account on the product or category for those companies. If no account with that code exists in a company, nothing is changed there and a warning is written in the log.

• On products, the buttons only show for multi-company products (those without a specific company). If you try to propagate a product that belongs to one company only, Odoo shows an error.
• If you have no other companies, Odoo tells you there is nothing to propagate to.
• When you create a new product or product category that already has income or expense accounts, the accounts are propagated to your other companies automatically.
• For product categories, propagation also happens when you save a change if the special propagation flag is active.

The module touches product.template, product.product and product.category, and reads account.account records to find matching codes.
