Product Warranty

This module adds warranty information to products and to the supplier lines of a product, so sales and purchasing staff can record how long a warranty lasts and how a return should be handled.

On a product form, in the Sales tab, a new Warranty group lets you enter a warranty duration and choose the unit (day, week, month or year).

On each supplier line of a product, a new Warranty informations section lets you set a warranty period in months, mark whether the supplier is still active, and choose return instructions. A Return type field decides who handles the return: the company, the supplier, or another address. Depending on that choice, the system automatically computes the Return address from the company return address, the supplier, or the other address you enter. If you pick Other, the other address becomes mandatory.

A new Return Instructions screen (under Sales configuration, visible to technical users) lets you create reusable return texts with a title, the instructions themselves, and a default flag. The default instruction is automatically proposed on new supplier lines.

Companies gain a default CRM Product Return Address, used when the return type is the company. Sales managers and salespeople can create and edit return instructions; other users can only read them.
