Project Task Analytic Propagation
This module allows you to change the analytic accounts in the timesheet, regardless of whether it has already been validated or is pending, when the linked task changes accounts (as happens with an item in a sales order).
In addition, when you change the analytic account for a project, it is also automatically updated in all its tasks.
When you change the task's project, this project will be propagate to all task's timesheets.
auto_awesome What this module does
AI-generated from the code · Odoo 19.0Keeps timesheets in sync with the analytic account of their task or project. When a task's analytic account changes, or a task moves to another project, its timesheet lines are updated automatically.
This module makes sure the analytic account used for cost and revenue tracking stays consistent between a task, its project and its timesheet lines.
- On the task form, in the extra information area, a new Analytic section shows the task's analytic account (only for users with analytic accounting rights).
- When the analytic account of a project changes, all its tasks are updated with the new account, and the timesheets of those tasks are updated too.
- When the analytic account of a task is changed directly, all its timesheet lines are updated to the same account.
- When a task is moved to another project, the project change is propagated to all its timesheets.
- The update also works for timesheets that were already validated or billed: the module allows these lines to be rewritten for this specific propagation, bypassing the usual restriction that prevents editing billed timesheets.
- The task's analytic account is computed from the project's analytic account, but can still be changed manually on the task.
- Changes to analytic fields on tasks are tracked in the chatter.
The module touches project.task and account.analytic.line, and depends on sale_timesheet.
