Purchase Order Product Recommendation Forecast
This module extends the purchase product recommendator to predict the increment of the recommendator quantities comparing to past periods.
So when we evaluate a period in the recommendator, this module analyze the same period for the given year of refences a computes the increment for the immediately next period of the same length.
With those increments (or decreases) we can deduce and forecast recommended quantities making a simple linear progression.
An example to illustrate this. I want to forecast sales for April and I'm going to analyze sales on March, but I want to forecast how the recommended products behave from this period to the next one. I also want to analyze, a normal year as 2020 was very irregular due to pandemy, so I'll use 2019 as my year of reference.
The wizard will take the deliveries from March 2019 and then the deliveries from April 2019 and then it will compute the increment between those two periods.
With that increment, the wizard will analyze the deliveries for March of the present year and then it will apply the increment computed for 2019 and those will be the quantities that we'll be recommending according to the current stock.
auto_awesome What this module does
AI-generated from the code · Odoo 15.0Adds a "Year of reference" option to the purchase product recommendation wizard, so Odoo can forecast next-period quantities by comparing the same period in a past year and applying the observed growth or decline.
When you open the product recommendation wizard on a purchase order, this module adds a "Year of reference" field next to the warehouse selection. The list of available years runs from the current year back to the year of the first recorded customer delivery.
The wizard then looks at the same period you selected, but in the chosen reference year, and also at the period immediately following it. By comparing the delivered quantities of both periods, it calculates a growth (or decline) percentage per product.
On each recommendation line you see two extra columns: "Inc. %" showing the forecasted increment as a percentage (or "n/a" when there is no reference data) and "Forecast" showing the recommended quantity, which is the delivered quantity of the selected period increased by that percentage.
If a reference year is set and differs from the year of the selected period, the wizard automatically adjusts the quantity to order so that the forecasted need is covered, marking the line as modified when an order quantity is needed. Changing the year of reference immediately refreshes the recommendations.
All of this happens inside the existing purchase order recommendation wizard; no new menus or screens are added.
