Purchase Packaging

This module lets you record, on each supplier price list line, the packaging (logistical unit) the supplier uses, the supplier's unit of measure and the minimum quantity unit of measure. On a purchase order line you can pick a packaging; the line then shows a 'Purchase quantity' and a 'Purchase Unit of Measure' that you fill in with the supplier's figures, while the standard 'Quantity' is computed automatically in your own unit of measure.

• The supplier's unit of measure is taken from the packaging if one is set, otherwise from the product's purchase unit of measure.
• When you choose a product, Odoo looks up the matching supplier and pre-fills the packaging, the purchase quantity and the purchase unit of measure, and restricts the choices to what that supplier offers.
• If a packaging is selected, the line's unit of measure becomes read-only and follows the packaging.
• Minimum quantities are respected: quantities coming from reordering rules are raised to the supplier's minimum when needed.
• Reordering rules count draft, sent and to-approve purchase order lines as incoming quantity, so replenishment is not triggered twice.
