This module was written to extend the Sales and the Stock capabilities of Odoo. This module introduces some new operating unit (OU) capabilities in order to enhance the performance of already existing OU features for Sales and Stock.
auto_awesome What this module does
AI-generated from the code · Odoo 18.0Keeps sales orders and their deliveries aligned with the correct operating unit by automatically choosing a matching warehouse and blocking mismatched combinations.
This module links operating units (organisational sub-units of a company) to sales and stock flows.
- When a sales order is created or its operating unit changes, Odoo automatically looks for a warehouse belonging to the same operating unit and sets it on the order. If no such warehouse exists, the warehouse is left unchanged.
- A validation rule prevents saving a sales order whose operating unit differs from the operating unit of its warehouse. Users see the message "Configuration error! The Operating Unit in the Sales Order and in the Warehouse must be the same."
- A second validation rule on warehouses blocks changing a warehouse's operating unit if sales orders already exist for that warehouse with a different operating unit. Users see "Sales Order records already exist(s) for this warehouse and operating unit."
- When a delivery (picking) is generated from a sales order line, the operating unit is copied onto the picking, taken from the sales order line or from the stock move itself.
It touches sale.order, stock.move and stock.warehouse. No new menus or screens are added; the changes appear directly in the existing sales order and warehouse forms.
