Detect changes and update the Account Chart from a template

This module adds a wizard that compares the accounting setup of a company with a chart template and shows what is missing or different. It is meant for updating an existing database after a tax reform or after the official template has been corrected.

In the wizard you choose the company and the chart template. You can tick which kinds of records to handle: tax groups, taxes, accounts, account groups and fiscal positions. You can also choose, for each kind, which fields are compared and in which order records are matched (for example by external identifier, code, name or description).

After pressing the button to search, the wizard lists the records found in the template as new, updated or, for taxes, to be deactivated because they are no longer in the template. Each line shows notes explaining the differences, field by field, with the current value and the expected value. You then select the lines you accept and run the update, which creates the new records and overwrites the selected existing ones. A log field collects messages and errors, and counters show how many records are new, updated or deactivated.

The wizard is available from the accounting configuration settings and from its own action. It touches account.chart.template, account.account, account.group, account.tax, account.tax.group and account.fiscal.position.
