User Chatter

This module brings the standard Odoo chatter to the user form. Before installing it, user records had no place to log messages; after installing it, every user form shows the usual chatter area at the bottom of the page.

What you can do on a user record: - Post messages and internal notes about that user. - Follow or unfollow the user record so you receive updates. - Schedule activities (to-dos with a due date and responsible person) linked to the user.

The chatter is added to the existing user form view (base.view_users_form), so it appears on the standard Users screen under Settings, without any new menu. The follower, activity and message fields are shown to internal users.

Under the hood, the user model (res.users) is extended with the mail thread and mail activity features, which is what provides the message history, followers and activity scheduling. No new fields, business rules, automatic checks, emails or scheduled jobs are added by this module itself; it relies entirely on the standard mail behaviour.

In short, it is a small usability module: it turns the user form into a record you can discuss and track activities on, useful for keeping notes or follow-ups about employees and system users.
