HR Employee Service from Contracts

This module links employee service information directly to the employee's contracts, so you no longer have to type the start and end of service by hand.

On the employee record it adds two computed fields: First Contract and Last Contract. Odoo looks at all contracts linked to that employee whose status is Open, Pending or Closed, then picks the one with the earliest start date as the first contract and the one with the latest end date as the last contract.

From those two contracts it derives two read-only dates: Start Date (taken from the first contract's start date) and Termination Date (taken from the last contract's end date). Because these are related fields, they update automatically whenever the underlying contract dates change.

The fields are stored, so they can be used in filters, groupings and reports without recalculating every time. The computation refreshes when the employee's contracts, their statuses or their start/end dates change.

This works together with the HR Employee Service module, which uses this information to calculate length of service. It touches the hr.employee model and reads from hr.contract. No new menus or screens are added; the new fields appear on the employee form alongside the existing service information.
