Federal Income Tax Tables 2008

This module installs a ready-made set of payroll salary rules that calculate Ethiopian Federal Income Tax withholding on payslips. It creates a contribution register named "Federal Income Tax Withholding Register (929/2016)" and a main salary rule called "Federal Income Tax Withholding" (code FIT2016) placed in the Income Tax category.

Under that main rule, several bracket rules are defined. Each bracket applies only when the monthly taxable amount (EMT) falls within a range, and the tax is computed either as a percentage of the amount above the bracket's lower limit or as a fixed amount, both adjusted by the employee's contract factor (current_contract.ppf).

• Up to 600: exempt (no tax)
• 600 to 1,650: 10%
• 1,650 to 3,200: 15% plus a fixed 105.00
• 3,200 to 5,250: 20% plus a fixed 337.50
• 5,250 to 7,800: 25% plus a fixed 747.50
• 7,800 to 10,900: 30% plus a fixed 1,385
• Above 10,900: 35% plus a fixed 2,315

The rules are linked to the payroll module and to the default salary rules module, and they are loaded as non-updatable data, so they are installed once and not overwritten by later updates. The main rule is not shown on the payslip itself; it acts as a container for the bracket rules. No new menus or screens are added; the rules appear in the standard payroll salary rule configuration and are used when processing payslips.
