Point Of Sale - Customer required fields

This module adds a new setting to each Point of Sale configuration where you can pick which customer fields are mandatory. The setting appears in the Point of Sale configuration form, in the same area as other reference settings, and lets you select fields from the customer record (for example phone, email or VAT number).

When a cashier creates a new customer or edits an existing one directly from the Point of Sale screen, the selected fields are marked as required in the customer form. If the cashier tries to validate an order for a customer who is missing any of those fields, a warning popup appears listing the missing information and the order cannot be validated until the customer data is corrected.

The rule is checked both when the customer is saved from the Point of Sale and when the payment screen tries to validate the order. The module works on the Point of Sale configuration (pos.config) and on customer records (res.partner). It does not by itself force a customer to be selected on every order; it only enforces the chosen fields when a customer is used.
