Storage Image

This module adds an image library on top of the storage backend system. Images are saved as files in the configured external storage, and the module keeps small resized versions (thumbnails) alongside them.

Where it appears: - A new Image menu under the Storage menu opens a list, form and kanban view of images. - The form shows a preview, the file name, an alt name, the storage backend, the linked file and its thumbnails, plus a Replace File button. - The kanban view shows image cards with name and alt name. - The search view offers Public / Private, All / Archived filters and grouping by backend.

Business rules and automatic behaviour: - When a file name is entered, it is automatically cleaned up (slugified) and the original name is copied into the alt name, with dashes and underscores turned into spaces. - New images are automatically marked as type Image and assigned to the default image storage backend (a system setting). - Deleting an image also deletes its thumbnails and the underlying stored file. - The Replace File wizard lets a user upload a new file for an existing image and swaps it in. - A Swap Storage Backend action is available on images to move their files to another backend.

Access is controlled by a new Image Manager group (admin users included); other internal users can only read images. A record rule limits Image Managers to files of type image or thumbnail.

It also provides a reusable base (image.relation.abstract) so other modules can attach images to their own records, with drag-and-drop reordering in kanban.
